For years, I ran a successful web design business helping ethical pet professionals get online. But somewhere along the way, the joy started fading. WordPress means ongoing maintenance, grid-based design, technical support tickets, and clients who somehow always end up locked out of their own dashboard at 11pm on a Friday.

I wanted to stop being a living help desk and start design again. Really design. So in jan 2026 I made the switch to Showit. And the more I play around in Showit, the more I realize: I should've done this WAY sooner.

A recovering WordPress webdesigner,
finally making the switch to Showit

Hi, I'm Simone

And the name 'Riverwood Creative'?

I believe your website should feel like an extension of who you are

If you've ever played Skyrim, you might know Riverwood. It's the first village you stumble upon after escaping Helgen: a short walk through the woods, quiet, quaint and warm. The kind of place that makes you exhale and think: okay. I can start fresh here.

That's exactly how starting Riverwood Creative felt. And it's exactly the feeling I want your website to give your visitors.

Not a template someone else already used a hundred times over. It should have soul. And quietly, in the background, it should work hard to turn visitors into clients. That's what Riverwood Creative is built on.

Some numbers to prove my expertise

Here I am trying to impress you as someone pretty new to Showit, lol! As I switched from WordPress to Showit starting 2026, and started Riverwood Creative from scratch, I don't have reviews or a Showit portfolio yet. So here are some WordPress numbers to wow you ;)

A few things about me that won't help you pick a template

Me in 1991. Have I told you I like dogs?

I live in this lovely cozy cottage in the forest in the Netherlands. But my real goal is a farm somewhere deep in the woods, filled with rescue animals.

These are my three rescue dogs from Bulgaria named Baldwin, Ted and Zoey. Ted has separation anxiety, which I kinda have to build my live around. But since he's the best dog ever, he's worth it <3

Also:

My Spotify is a chaotic mix of '80ies, power metal, Eurovision gems, Britney Spears, synthwave and everything in between.

I cannot put on mascara without making a complete mess of it. Every single time. Cotton swabs are my best friends.

I named this entire business after a village in Skyrim. If that doesn't tell you I'm a game nerd, I don't know what will.

I'm a crisp ('chips' in Dutch) connaisseur. When there's crisps around, I can't help myself (and if there's not, I'll probably go home soon to eat crisps).

When not designing websites (or gaming), I love offscreen time painting with gouache or watercolor.
